On April 24th, the webinar “Bridging the Skills Gap in the 5G Era – Insights from the 5G-DiGITs Learning Project” took place, gathering experts and students from across Europe. The session provided a valuable platform to exchange knowledge and showcase how the 5G-DiGITs project is contributing to the future of digital skills development.
The webinar featured contributions from Dr. Benjamin Molina (UPV), Dr. Nikos Passas (University of Athens) and Alberto Navarro (Finnova), who presented key aspects of the project, including the design, deployment, and evaluation of the 5G-DiGITs learning platform.
During the session, participants gained a clearer understanding of the methodology behind the courses, as well as the structured process through which the learning materials were created, from initial concept to final implementation. The speakers also highlighted how the platform integrates multidisciplinary content in areas such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, and robotics.
Importantly, students who had already taken part in the programme were able to deepen their understanding of the foundations behind the learning materials, gaining insight into how the content they experienced was developed and refined. This contributed to a more comprehensive appreciation of the learning journey and its practical relevance.
The webinar also emphasized the importance of aligning education and training systems with the rapidly evolving demands of the labour market, particularly in the context of digital transformation across Europe.
