✨The second 5G-DiGITs Brokerage Event took place on 28 April 2026 at TECHIN – Vilniaus technologijų ir inžinerijos mokymo centras, Vilnius, bringing together around 50 participants from the industrial innovation value chain.
📍Students, educators, researchers, SMEs, high-tech start-ups, investors and institutional representatives came together to discuss how 5G can support Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing and future skills development in Lithuania.
🔹The event opened with a welcome session and an overview of the 5G-DiGITs project by Eirini Papadopoulou and Marius Ablačinskas, Head of the Innovation Development Department at TECHIN – Vilniaus technologijų ir inžinerijos mokymo centras.
🔹Gintaras Vilda, CEO of Gamybos inovacijų slėnis / Manufacturing Innovation Valley and former Deputy Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania, delivered a keynote on “How 5G is Transforming Industry?”, highlighting Lithuania’s 5G deployment, industrial adoption and skills readiness.
🔹Šarūnas Oberauskas, Senior Adviser at the RRT | The Communications Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania, presented “Private 5G Networks in Lithuania: Regulatory Framework”, offering practical insights on spectrum access, licensing, experimental permits and deployment barriers.
🔹The panel discussion “5G in Lithuania: Future Perspectives” brought together representatives from industry, regulation, vocational education and skills assessment to discuss 5G-enabled Industry 4.0, skills gaps and stronger cooperation between education and the labour market.
🔹The event also presented the results of T5.1, focused on identifying skills needs, barriers and opportunities related to 5G adoption in education and industry, followed by structured B2B and B2Academia networking sessions.
🤝 By combining policy discussion, practical information and matchmaking, the Vilnius Brokerage Event created a valuable space to strengthen #collaboration between education and industry and support the development of future #5G skills.
