5G-DiGITs Brokerage Event in Dublin
May 26 6:30pm – May 26 8:00pm @ tcube coworking, Dublin
The first 5G-DiGITs Brokerage Event took place on 26 May 2025, from 18:30 to 20:00, at Tcube coworking space in Dublin, Ireland, gathering around 50 participants, mostly local stakeholders including students, educators, startups, SMEs, and investors. The event was organised by F6S and served as a key moment for networking, knowledge exchange and collaborative foresight.
The event started with an introduction to the project by Felipe Taylor Murta, Communication Manager at F6S, who presented the objectives, consortium structure and activities of 5G-DiGITs. This was followed by a roundtable discussion on investment opportunities and challenges for startups in the field of advanced technologies, moderated by Elaine Burke, award-winning science and tech journalist. The panel featured Alison McMurtrie, founder of iDunn Consulting, and Gerry McKenna, tech executive.
In her post-event reflections, Alison McMurtrie highlighted the panel’s key discussion points, including smart cities vs smart countries, iterative infrastructure, the future of communications (especially security concerns), building for global vs local impact, and the importance of adaptable, modular systems and research. She also praised the event’s organisation and thanked Tcube, Maria Carolina Oliveira, and Felipe Taylor Murta for facilitating the session.
Elaine Burke also shared her experience as moderator on social media, mentioning the engaging and insightful nature of the discussion with Alison and Gerry at Tcube.
The second part of the event featured a visioning session led by John Coolican, venture capital consultant, using Slido to collect participants’ perspectives on the future of 5G education, labour market needs and skills development. Topics included core skill domains for 2030, green competences in tech education, and pedagogical approaches. The session sparked meaningful discussion and participant engagement.
The event received very positive feedback from attendees. Although it was not recorded, photos and videos are available in the WP5 SharePoint folder, along with the attendance list. Dissemination was carried out through social media and the project website. The LinkedIn post alone reached 541 impressions, generated 93 interactions (17.19% engagement rate), 50 link clicks (9.24% CTR), and was shared 6 times, showing notable online engagement.
