Brussels, Tuesday 23 June 2026 – The Erasmus+ project 5G-DiGITs will host an online Info Day on 23 June 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CEST, inviting university students, VET learners, student entrepreneurs and educators from across Europe to discover a unique opportunity to work on real industry challenges in 5G and green technologies. Organised by the 5G-DiGITs consortium and supported by partners, the event will present the Accelerator Open Call, introduce participating industry organisations and explain how student-led startup teams can apply to join the programme.
Meet the Challenge Owners
During the webinar, participants will have the opportunity to meet the organisations behind the challenges and learn first-hand about the real technological and sustainability issues they are looking to solve. Challenge Owners participating in the Accelerator include Türk Telekom, Opticoms, Karlstad Municipality, Tietoevry Tech Consulting R&D and the Malta Communications Authority.
These organisations have submitted challenges related to digital transformation, connectivity, smart solutions and green innovation, offering students the opportunity to work on projects with direct market relevance and real-world impact.
From Ideas to Industry Solutions
The 5G-DiGITs Accelerator is designed to connect talented student teams with industry and public-sector organisations through an innovative Challenge-Based Model. Instead of developing hypothetical business cases, participants will work on real challenges proposed by industry leaders while receiving guidance and support throughout the process.
Selected teams will benefit from:
- Expert mentoring from innovation and industry professionals
- Practical workshops focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and business development
- Networking opportunities with companies, public authorities and technology experts
- Pitch training and communication support
- Direct exposure to potential employers, collaborators and investors
Throughout the programme, participants will develop practical solutions and strengthen the entrepreneurial, digital and problem-solving skills increasingly demanded by today’s labour market.
