The European project 5G-DiGITs, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, is advancing its mission to equip Europe’s workforce with the skills required to meet the challenges of 5G and post-5G technologies.
As digital technologies evolve rapidly, 5G-DiGITs has defined four strategic objectives to address the growing skills gap and support Europe’s digital and green transitions.
First, the project aims to reduce the skills gap in 5G and emerging technologies through advanced training programmes designed on the basis of comprehensive market needs assessments. These programmes combine technical expertise with entrepreneurial and transversal skills.
Secondly, 5G-DiGITs strengthens collaboration between academia, industry and research, promoting knowledge transfer, long-term partnerships and training aligned with real market demands.
Sustainability is embedded as a core pillar of the project. In line with EU priorities, digital skills and green practices are integrated into all training pathways, with specific focus on energy efficiency, green technologies and sustainable post-5G innovation.
Finally, the project fosters entrepreneurship and innovation, supporting students and professionals through entrepreneurial skills training and accelerator-style initiatives, with a strong emphasis on green entrepreneurship.
