The 5G-DiGITs project officially launched on November 1st, 2024, uniting 12 partners from eight European countries to bridge the workforce skills gap for the 5G era. Coordinated by Envolve (Greece), the initiative aims to equip professionals with advanced digital, green, and entrepreneurial skills, fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and research. By addressing critical challenges in 5G-driven industries like IoT, smart cities, and advanced manufacturing, the project seeks to ensure broad accessibility to 5G benefits, support sustainable development, and inspire innovative solutions for real-world challenges.
Envolve plays a pivotal role in leading the initiative’s activities, including a transnational accelerator program empowering startups in 5G and green technologies, and developing entrepreneurship-focused courses on sustainability. With partners spanning Spain, Greece, Belgium, Ireland, Sweden, Malta, Lithuania, and Germany, the Alliance marks a significant step in Europe’s digital and green transitions. Christina Skoubridou, Director of EU Innovation at Envolve, emphasized the project’s importance: “By leveraging collective expertise, we aim to empower Europe’s workforce for a more connected, sustainable future.”
