The 5G-DiGITs project successfully held its second Accelerator Open Call Info Day on 3 September 2026, bringing together student innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in developing innovative solutions in 5G/B5G, artificial intelligence and green technologies.
During the online session, participants were introduced to the 5G-DiGITs Accelerator Programme, its challenge-based approach and the opportunities available to student-led startup teams. The session also provided practical information on the application process, eligibility requirements, programme timeline, mentoring activities and the final Demo Day.
A central part of the Info Day was dedicated to the programme’s five industry challenges, presented by the participating Challenge Owners. The challenges address real-world applications ranging from 5G-enabled safer public spaces and digital twins to AI-driven electromagnetic-field mapping, emergency-response solutions and dynamic network slicing services.
Through the Accelerator, selected teams will take part in a four-month journey from October 2026 to January 2027, benefiting from specialised training, expert mentoring, workshops and pitch preparation. The programme will culminate in a Demo Day, where participants will present their solutions to Challenge Owners and a wider network of industry stakeholders. The Accelerator aims to support 25 student-led startup teams, with approximately 50 hours of training available throughout the programme.
The 5G-DiGITs Accelerator Open Call remains open until 10 September 2026 at 17:00 CET, offering student-led teams a final opportunity to join the programme and transform innovative ideas into solutions addressing concrete industry challenges in next-generation connectivity and green technologies.
Applications are still open — join the 5G-DiGITs Accelerator and take your innovation to the next level.
